The Network

The Job Futures network gets its strength through the shared values and commitments across its not-for-profit members. The network allows members to work with a group of organisations who are equally committed to finding meaningful employment and opportunities for job seekers.

Members come together to help build on each other’s strengths. They are able to learn from experiences across Australia. Each member is strengthened by being part of the network.

Member organisations retain their strong local identity and are distinguished by their links with their communities and a proud history of delivering services to those local communities. Our members bring to the network an extraordinary level of knowledge, experience and expertise, as well as a passion and commitment to their communities and to job-seekers. This is our greatest strength.

Job Futures was established in 1997 by not-for-profit community employment and training organisations from four States and the ACT. These organisations had extensive experience in assisting disadvantaged job seekers in their local regions.

The group were determined to build a national network to strengthen the delivery of employment training services to local communities in a rapidly changing service delivery environment.

Our unique structure allows Government programmes to be delivered right across Australia through a number of small community organizations without the dispersed management difficulties, or the risk, of doing so. Job Futures manages the relationships and absorbs the risk. This makes a vital part of the provision of employment services in Australia.

With a strong network, each member can maximise their ability to secure business – which means that all over Australia, employment services providers remain strong and viable members of the community.

Since then the Job Futures network has grown significantly, with strategic additions to membership giving our network coverage in every state and territory of Australia.

We continue to maintain our commitment to job seekers and their communities by finding innovative, meaningful solutions to the problems of disadvantage and unemployment.
